IMMIGRATION AUTHORITIES USE THE PHOTO ON YOUR TRF FOR IDENTIFICATION PURPOSES AND IF YOU DO NOT COMPLY TO ALL THE CRITERIA BELOW, YOU RISK DELAYS AND FURTHER INVESTIGATION OF YOUR VISA APPLICATION.   WE UPDATE THIS PAGE ACCORDING TO IMMIGRATION GUIDELINES AND IF WE ARE STRICT ABOUT ACCEPTING YOUR PROFILE PHOTO, PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS IS FOR YOUR BENEFIT.

1. Have ready a high quality, sharp focus, COLOUR photo 6cm x 4cm which conforms to the following:

IT MUST NOT BE THE SAME AS THE PHOTO YOU HAVE IN YOUR PASSPORT

1.      Recent, taken LESS than 6 months ago

2.      Taken against a plain, white or light background

3.      A CLOSE UP of your FACE (not your clothing) which FILLS THE FRAME

4.      Not a studio, portrait or retouched photo

5.      Your face and eyes must look directly into the camera

6.      No surrounding borderlines or empty margins

7.      Glasses must NOT be worn, even if you normally use them 

2.  When you have the above photo, you then need to do the following:

1.      Scale the image to 150 x 150 pixels in size

2.      Scan the image at 100dpi or less

3.      Save as JPG format with 75% quality if necessary

The resulting photo will be SQUARE in shape and LESS than 10kb size.  If it is not, it will be rejected by the IELTS software programme.

3. You can then save the photo on your pc and will be able to upload it successfully.

4. Please keep your original photo to present with your application documents on test day.

Please remember that this photo will be printed on your TRF and good quality photos assist visa and immigration identification procedures

HEJAB  If you need to show your TRF to an organisation in Iran or any other Islamic country, then you must wear hejab.  However, please ensure that the image is a close up of your face with all your features clearly visible and only a small area taken up by the material.  If your TRF is for other countries, then Islamic hejab is optional.

IF YOUR PROFILE/APPLICATION FORM PHOTO IS THE SAME AS YOUR PASSPORT PHOTO, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SIT ANY OF THE TEST MODULES UNLESS YOU BRING A NEW PHOTO WHEN YOU COME FOR YOUR SPEAKING TEST OR ON TEST DAY, WHICHEVER IS FIRST.   THERE IS AN ADMINISTRATION FEE OF 50,000 RIALS TO COVER THE COST OF SCANNING THE NEW PHOTO ONTO THE IELTS GLOBAL DATABASE TO ENSURE IT IS PRINTED ON YOUR TRF.   YOU ARE THEN RESPONSIBLE FOR UPLOADING THE NEW PHOTO ONTO YOUR PROFILE (IELTS LOCAL DATABASE) AFTER TEST DAY IF YOU WISH TO RESERVE ANOTHER TEST.

Please note: this service is only possible if you send a high quality, unaltered image.  Do NOT send digital photos or photos which you have already tried to edit.
